Why Souvenirs?

The word souvenir is French meaning “memory.” For most people, a souvenir is an item of sentimental value, an object that will remind us of a pleasant journey. It could be anything as a simple trinket from a street vendor to a majestic work of art depicting the place we visited. Synonyms are memento and keepsake. However, a souvenir is not the same as memorabilia, which is connected to a particular historic event or place.
